MOTHER’S HERITAGE INTERNATIONAL

MHI is a nonprofit operating in Volta Region, Ghana. We are on a mission to end child trafficking on Lake Volta, provide support to at-risk girls and women, and help improve communities within our outreach. Our four social initiatives are the heart of who we are; they are the drive behind every move we make.

Medical
Missions

A major problem amongst communities on Lake Volta is a disease called bilharzia. With a group of medical volunteers, we treat those affected, educate and raise awareness.

Refuge

There are thousands of children forced into labor by fishermen on Lake Volta. We aim to retrieve girls from the lake that are held in captivity and house them in a home where they are safe to grow up in a healthy, stable environment.

Education

Every month, we hold seminars for the community to educate on health topics, such as: prenatal care, HIV/Aids, hygiene, and more.
